The Hermanus Golf Course is located along the foot of the Kleinriver Mountains that border Hermanus. This pristine course is a unique asset to Hermanus as it boasts a 27 hole course, surrounded by indigenous wetlands and Fynbos. The course wraps itself around the natural curves of the mountainside, making each hole a different and challenging experience. Art Meandering

Art routes and specialty shops are dotted throughout the area with exquisite views in abundance along the meander.  Just 20 minutes away lies the Kleinriver Cheese Factory.  The farm is a small family run cheesery that offers a range of exceptional and award-winning South African cheeses.  Also along the meander is the Birkenhead Brewery offering some delicious and recognized brews, including lagers, ales, and ciders. Not only is there exceptional beer to try but you can also enjoy the country estate, brewery tours, restaurant, and pub.

Hiking & Biking

Head to the Fernkloof Nature Reserve to follow impressive hiking and biking trails of various lengths and degrees of difficulty.  Paths make the reserve an ideal hiking location for all ages, fitness levels and also cater to the disabled with well kept, wheelchair-friendly pathways.  Routes vary in length and difficulty and can be traversed on your own or with a guide who will inform you about the area, let you in on the best land-based whale watching spots and lead you along cliffs with incredible views and photo opportunities.

The Whale House Museum

When the weather is not playing along, head to the Old Harbour Museum and Whale House Museum where you can marvel at the size of a suspended whale skeleton and learn more about these majestic creatures.  The museums give an insight into the history of the town and its development from old fishing methods and boat repairs to the role players who contributed to making it the coastal gem it is today.
